Gordon Lightfoot, Long Way Back Home
Long day again today. I didn't have my first class of the morning (the prof was at a conference) so I got to sleep in for a bit. Then I went to lunch and to my only class of the day, CS. I didn't have the homework done, but it turns out that no one else did either. So he talked about it in class, and I finished it right after class. Then I made an attempt on my make up assignment for last term's CS class, but I had trouble with some of the math. Bah. So the prof and I debugged it.
Then I came back to the dorms and hung out with people in my room for a while. Basically, Alice (who lives here), Chris (D.), Io and Chloe were all in my room for a bit. I started playing random music. It was fun. First I played them "Born In The USA" by Bruce Springsteen, because we were talking about it for some reason. Then I just started playing stuff I liked. Chloe was very surprised that I like the song "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure. Yes, I listen to something other than folk and filk. Occasionally.
Then I washed my hair and went to a church service. Cappella Nova was singing as part of some special service that they were holding. Considering it was Friday night and this is one of the least religious campuses in the country, it had a pretty decent turnout. Church services always kind of weird me out though. I suppose it comes from not being Christian. I've performed as part of more church services than I've attended as just a general member of the public. It's odd.
Anyway, came back to the dorms and Chloe was locked out of her room again (she and her roommate are having a bit of a debate on the subject of when to lock the door, I believe.). So I kpet her and this other girl company while we waited for Campus Safety to come let her in. Then I helped her find her key, and we went to Wendy's. Then we decided to rent videos.
I got a hankering to see Cannibal: The Musical again (I'd seen it once before, last year), so I drove to two different Hollywood Videos looking for it. I ran into my old high school friend Louis and his family at the first one. It was nice to see them again. I'll have to remember to call him one of these days. Finally found Cannibal at the second place, so we rented that and also Pete's Dragon. Then we came back, and found people in the lounge watching the very end of So I Married An Axe Murderer. So we watched the end of that, and then watched Cannibal. It's a damn funny movie. It's really hard to explain, and the beginning is far from the best part, but it gets damn funny later on. Then we watched part of Pete's Dragon, but people wanted to go to sleep, so we did.
Nothing else I feel like talking about at the moment, I'm afraid. I have thoughts, but I can barely keep my eyelids open.
