If I could sing like the poets and kings of this world
If I could rise like the wind or the tides of the sea
I would sing you to sleep my love with sweet melody
And let you dream away till the morning light returned again
To take you away from me

Gordon Lightfoot, If I Could

Well, I'm back from Seattle.

I was up there for less than a day, but it was very worth it. I'm just silly about Sean. It's a little pathetic. I hope it doesn't annoy him. I hope he'd tell me if it did. Basically, Jessica and I drove up there, bought food, cooked Sean dinner and talked for a bit. Then Sean and I wandered off for a bit to go take a bath and Jessica went to sleep. Then Sean and I came back and went to sleep. All told, I'm fairly sure we spent more time up there asleep than awake. Ah well. I actaully tend to get an almost decent night's sleep up there. It's much easier for me to relax when Sean's around. I'd probably get a really good night's sleep when we're together except (a) the floor isn't very comfortable and (b) we never seem to get 8 hours because we stay up too late. Anyway, then in the morning we ate a vague breakfast of leftover tacos from dinner and doughnuts, and then Jessica and I had to head back to Portland. Bah.

The drive back actually didn't take very long this time, probably because I left Jessica drive (I had a lot of reading I had to get done for school) and she drives like a nutcase. The left lane is her home base. Grr. But we managed to not get a ticket somehow. Next time, I drive. We stopped by the airport so she could finish getting some stuff about her flight next weekend straightened out, and then decided to try not to take the freeway back. I'm a little fuzzy on what happened right after that, (I had my nose buried in a book until I noticed that we were lost and I was more likely to be able to get us unlost) but at some point we ended up a little outside SE Portland somehow. Fortuantly, I then saw signs for Oaks Park and told her to follow them. That got us back.

Then I had to meet one of my profs for a quiz. That went fine. I had an appointment with my counselor after that, and then I slept for several hours. Mom and I went to a late dinner, and now I'm thinking I'll read the remaining chapter and a half for my final tomorrow and get some sleep. 08:30 finals, urk.
